How 16 parts per million changes the game of agriculture

Worldwide Development in Agriculture

Today more than 7 billion people inhabit the world. In 2050 the world's population will grow to 9 billion people, and the world's agricultural output will have to be doubled by that time (UN resource projections).  In 10 years from now the supply of arable land will be half of today's because more and more arable land is sacrificed to bio-fuel crops and urbanization. During the coming decade the aquifers (water containing layers deep in the ground) in several continents will run dry. Irrigation of croplands from groundwater accounts for over 40% of the total consumptive groundwater use.

In the next decade the number of middle class families will double, in particular in China and India. This together with a shift from vegetarian to meat diet as income and wealth grow, demands more grains for animal feed. On top of all there is a the gradual climate change and the overconsumption of the western world. All combined, to overcome these problems, the agricultural output has to increase by a factor of 6 to 7.

NewSil is a solution for this challenge. Using NewSil will give the farmer a successful combination of nutritious and high yielding crops. NewSil creates good conditions for plants to grow in good health, and gives the plants the chance to withstand biotic and abiotic stress factors.

NewSil offers a ground breaking technology in the field of agriculture!
